Harlequin tiny vase

Project type

Vases

Date

2026

Location

Hertford, England

This tiny vase was made by starting with a symmetrical blank in transparent red and blue, using black stringers (glass spaghetti) to form a grid.

Once gravity and heat got involved, however, the symmetry disappeared, creating a dynamic piece that highlights the spectacular flow of molten glass. This is why it reminds me of a harlequin: symmetry that flows and shifts in motion.
