Reaching for the light

Sunny walks can bring about the best inspiration. This set of three tiny vases was inspired by the tiny meadow and woodland flowers that reach up through tall grass and between trees to catch the sun.

Each vase was crafted individually using glass powder and designed to create a gradient effect from the vase, like a flower centre. Dropping the molten glass through a mould stretched it, creating delicate flutes of tapering colour.

A specially crafted cedar wood base completes the story, bringing nature back to the forefront with its texture and deep aroma.

This piece was selected for show at the Courtyard Arts Gallery Open Show in Hertford.
